Health care
PES has conducted various medical camps for precaution of Polio, chickenpox and hepatitis A & B programmes, workshops on oral hygiene, general cleanliness and personal hygiene, diseases due to malnutrition viz Rickets, Beri-Beri, scurvy and anemia which are more prevalent among the underprivileged groups of our society. PES has organized different workshops on issues like nutrition and health where the doctor has explained the intake of vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates from our stable diet thereby enhancing their awareness about our basic body requirements. This in turn reduces the chances of acquiring deficiency diseases.
A special care has been taken for the young girls by teaching them about adolescent body changes, hormonal changes as well as personal hygiene. The focus was given on giving emotional support to the girl child bringing in awareness about the right and wrong touch.
PES has also conducted health camps for senior citizens to deal with prevalent diseases like Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, diabetics, hypertension and eye care.
To fight these periodical diseases concept of naturopathy and acupressure was initiated.
Immunization Camps:
Every year we distribute Polio vile through our camps with the co- operation of our field staffs, teachers and volunteers with the support of UNICEF and Rotary International. Yoga Camps were organized for better living and stress free life.
Blood donation, eye care, dental hygiene camps were organized.
Empowerment through Education:
This year our special focus has been on the education of the girl child. PES had conducted Sarva Siksha Abhiyan in different regions in the state of Chhattisgarh where we trained:
- 500 tribal girls for spoken English and interpersonal skills under Kishori Shakti Yojana at Chhattisgarh.
- Trained 120 teachers / trainers of Government School for English proficiency in Chhattisgarh.
